  "Shalashaska has landed"
Posted by: Shalaco - 04-07-2025, 02:23 PM - Forum: Member Announcements - Replies (9)

Hello my old comrades, I'm glad our community is getting more revivals than Krillin, it def deserves it, had such great times back then and I'm hoping to know about you all now too.

I was -Shalashaska-, and later changed my name to Shalaco in mgsf.

I remember there were other forums too but I wasn't that active by that point

Anyway, great to be here again!

Posted by: tako - 04-07-2025, 10:54 AM - Forum: Member Announcements - Replies (8)

Just a quick announcement for old members who may not recognise me. I was bosaboss on the old forums. My handle on most accounts now is gojutako or tako.

I´m Stephen, Belgian and casual gamer.

Big fan of Kojima´s games obviously. Some other favourites: Hades, The Last of Us, NieR, Stray, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Tomb Raider, Catherine, Ghost of Tsushima, Heavy Rain, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil.

  Metal Gear Solid 3 movies
Posted by: BULUPTAX - 04-07-2025, 02:18 AM - Forum: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Replies (3)

I made a similar thread on Metal Gear Legacy a few years back so I'm making it here too because it was a fun little project.

In 2021, when I was in COVID lockdown for several months, I was replaying the MGS games and had the idea to try and watch all the movies that were mentioned in MGS3, since movies of the 50's and 60's were brought up a lot.

I watched 40 films that the game mentioned, ranging from: war movies, monster movies, alien invasion movies, science fiction, and anti-nuke movies. A lot of them were easy enough to find on streaming or blu ray, but some were so obscure that I had a really difficult time tracking them down.
It was actually a lot of fun and it gave me a real love of 50s  and 60s era movies, something I hadn't really delved into so much before

Here's the list in alphabetical order:

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954)
Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
The Alamo (1960)
The Alligator People (1959)
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953)
The Big Broadcast (1932)
The Blob (1958)
The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
Dracula (1931)
Dr, Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Earth vs The Spider (1958)
A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
The Fly (1958)
Forbidden Planet (1956)
Frankenstein (1931)
From Russia with Love (1963)
Godzilla (1954)
The Great Escape (1963)
The Guns of Navarone (1961)
The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
It Came from Beneath the Sea (1955)
It Came from Outer Space (1953)
It Conquered the World (1956)
Jason and the Argonauts (1963)
The Last War (1961)
The Magnificent Seven (1960)
Mondo Cane (1962)
North by Northwest (1959)
On the Beach (1959)
Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)
The Quatermass Xperiment (1955)
Rebecca (1940)
Seven Samurai (1954)
Them! (1954)
The Thing from Another World (1951)
The War of the Worlds (1953)
White Zombie (1932)

  Show Off Your Stuff

Do you have some neat stuff that you're proud of? A collection you spent a lot of time and energy getting together? Brag about it here! Whether it's gaming, movies, music, books, toys, or other merch!

I'll start off with an older but fun acquisition. A small model of the Normandy SR2 from Mass Effect 3.

  Let’s gooooo

Hey guys!

I found myself waffling a bit in black kings welcome back thread and figured ‘why not make ya own’, so here we are!

Place is looking great so far,  nice to have a forum to hang out on again to be honest. Reddit has its place but it doesn’t feel the same. Been nice to see everyone’s original avatars too, like coming back to my internet home almost!

I feel like I changed mine every other week on mgsf, so I’m just going for the mystery bot look currently.

looking forward to all the discussions!

  Chapter 3
Posted by: Dirty Duck - 04-06-2025, 12:07 AM - Forum: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Replies (10)

What are all our thoughts on the legitimacy of MGSV ever actually having more to see? Are any of us Chapter 3 truthers? If you believe in it, what do you think it was? Just Mission 51? What SHOULD it have been in your opinion?

This video's pretty old now but I do think it's a great real-world MGS tale. Thought I'd post it in case anyone hasn't seen it and has 20 minutes to kill.

  Hello once again

Hey guys, good to see you! Was worried once Metal Gear Legacy went down that it would be the end of it since Pricey's second MGSF was also dead. Looking good too with a couple themes to choose from too. You guys have clearly been putting in a lot of work. Thanks for the invite!

  Physint
Posted by: Kestrel - 04-04-2025, 12:53 PM - Forum: Kojima Productions - Replies (25)

"Physint (working title), a portmanteau of physical intelligence, is an upcoming stealth action video game being developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, set to be released for the PlayStation platform."

Heard about this sometime early last year, but didn't have a Metal Gear forum at the time to talk about it.

Supposedly this is Kojima's next project after DS2, a "spiritual successor to Metal Gear", complete with the "tactical espionage" subtitle.
I did a few minutes of browsing on the name just now, and it seems like it's been total silence since I first heard about it. So nothing new yet, and there likely won't be for a long time. We all remember that long road to the release of MGSV and the insane theories we all came up with in the years prior, I'm sure.

https://www.reddit.com/r/metalgearsolid/...cause_you/
^a reddit post going over it, including the article PCG put out.

https://x.com/HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN/status/175...7655119990
^and a Tweet from the Big Man himself.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet on the forum, so I'm curious as to what everyone thinks. Part of me feels like it's too good to be true, and it'll be dead in the water before we get a chance to reel it in. Maybe I'm just being cynical. I hope I am.

What's coming up on everyone's dance card then?

I saw Green Lung back in Feb and they were fantastic. They'll be headlining Download in the near future.

I've got Ghost in 11 days and McLusky next month. This morning I've snagged tickets to see FIDLAR and ticket for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard who are doing a rave set (I'd prefer the Orchestra but that's London only). I also want to want to see TV on the Radio. Immense band who fell out of my rotation for some reason.

Hello! I'm sure you're all familiar with the New York Times' Wordle
Every day there is a new 5 letter word for you to guess. You get 6 chances to guess, and after every guess you're told if you have got a letter correct or if the letter is incorrect but is used elsewhere in the word.

From today we shall be doing our own forum Wordle. Follow the link every day and do your best, then copy and paste your results in this thread! Play everyday and try to get a win streak going. There may be something good in it for you! Or maybe there won't! Take a chance.
